Recovered Pod with Keith and Dan

Making up a new story is hard. Slapping some explosions or meme references on a movie you already know people like seems easier.

On Recovered, your hosts Dan Gibbins and Keith and Kollee dig deep into Hollywood’s favourite tradition: dusting off old stories and telling them again. Whether it’s called a remake, reboot, or reimagining, from comedy to action to horror and the oddities that changed genres, Keith and Dan dig into them all and ask whether the original deserved a remake, whether the new version is a worthy successor, and why they’ve made life choices that could one day lead to watching five different versions of The Three Musketeers in a row.

Learn and laugh as we examine how Hollywood’s favourite stories evolve over time, what studios considered scary, and how thoroughly they’re willing to run an IP into the ground. Follow us on Twitter and Instagram to see what we’re up to.

(Movies and miniseries only, no TV shows, we are not made of time.)

Let’s meet our hosts!

Keith Kollee

Keith has been a writer, actor, and director for stage and screen, including co-creating Writers' Circle for WTP. Keith is a graduate of Mount Royal College (now a University!), and has participated in amateur and professional theatre productions for years. As Recovered’s leading horror expert, he’s looking forward to dragging Dan all the way down Hollywood’s rabbit hole of remade horror movies.

Dan Gibbins

Award winning playwright Dan Gibbins is your Pop Culture Sin Eater. Whether it’s Oscar winners past, Oscar nominees present, or the best and worst of comic-based movies and TV shows, Dan watches it so you don’t have to, and he’s here to share what he’s learned with you… the good, the bad, the glory of Yancey Cravat. He occasionally talks about his plays, his travels, and his thoughts on life in the future, and his annual not-quite-comprehensive ranking of comic book TV shows over at www.talesfrompartsunknown.com. If you need a thing written, he might be able to assist with that for a fee.

He’s also @danny_g on Twitter and @daniforth on Instagram if those are your things.
